CLASSROOM REWARDS In the classroom we have a clip chart with different colors on it. The colors go from outstanding behavior (Pink) to misconduct/negative behavior (Red). The poster holds each students class number on a clothes pin. Students start each day on green. When the student is following rules or displaying positive behavior they may be asked to move their clip up to blue, purple, or pink. If the student is not behaving well, they will be asked to move their clip down. The students are able to move up and down on the chart throughout the day. The color the student ends the day on is recorded in their agenda book every day. If they student ends the day on pink they get a hot shot on their passport. If the student ends the day on red they get a whole punch on their passport. Each month there will be a copy of the behavior chart in the student's binder so parents can check each day. I ask parents to sign the behavior chart, as well as agendas each night. PASSPORTS Each student has a “passport” in his/her agenda book. This passport travels with them from class to class and is a way for ANY and ALL teachers to manage the classroom behavior of ALL students in the third grade. Hole punches in the passport shows negative behavior. Hot shots in the passport show exceptional behavior. FUN FRIDAY Every month we will have a Fun Friday. Fun Friday is a time when the students get to participate in fun, creative, and interest-based activities. Students who have the least amount of hole punches are able to sign up for activities first. If a student exceeds the amount of monthly hole punches then he/she will have to reflect on his/her behavior and not participate in Fun Friday (must attend the Thinking Room). Three hole punches are automatic referrals to Thinking Room. A hot shot may cancel out a hole punch so a student could have a clean slate.
